- a former assistant professor of philosophy;
- since 2000, blissfully wed to Rev. LoraKim Joyner, now a UU community minister;
- since 2001, a Zen practitioner and student;
- since 2004, a UU minister: have served congregations in El Paso, TX, Midland, TX, Tarpon Springs, FL, Marion County, FL, and Gainesville, FL.
- 2006 - 2013, led the Dancing Crane Zen Center in Gainesville, FL
- starting in 2013, minister serving the Community Unitarian Church in White Plains, NY.
